Entering Virgo Season & The Energy of Spring

As the seasons shift, so do we. Moving from winter into spring is never just about warmer weather, it’s about clearing, recalibrating, and calling in fresh energy. On the latest episode of The Mood Maker Podcast, I sat down with clairvoyant artist Sarah-Jayne Kerr to explore what Virgo season brings us and how we can align with this energy of clarity, balance, and renewal.

Winter is great for hibernating, reflecting, and going within. But spring asks us to clear the stagnant energy so something new can blossom,” SJ reminded us.

Think of the forest floor in winter, puddles cold and stagnant, light barely reaching through. As soon as spring arrives, the sun filters in, flowers push through the soil, and life returns. That’s exactly what happens within us.

What Virgo Season Means for All of Us

You don’t have to be a Virgo to feel Virgo’s influence. Virgo season is about detail, order, and preparation, it’s the planner, the organiser, the quiet achiever. As SJ put it, “If you want something done, get a Virgo on it. They’ll cover the blind spots you didn’t even see.” But Virgo also carries a shadow: perfectionism, control, over-critical energy. This season is an invitation to notice where we’re holding too tightly, and soften. As shared on the episode, “Perfectionism robs the world of our superpowers. It hides us away when what people really want is our perfectly imperfect selves.

Spring Cleaning Beyond Your Home

Virgo energy blends beautifully with spring’s momentum. This is the moment to:

  • Clear your physical space – open the windows, move furniture, clean out your robe. Small shifts create big energetic openings.

  • Cleanse your mental space – notice the narratives on repeat. What “old stories” are you still holding onto and journaling about? Rip out the page. Spring is a time to start a new chapter.

  • Reset your routines – Virgo loves structure, but only if it serves you. Use this time to recalibrate your habits and rituals so they actually give you energy back.

More things can drop in when you create space for them,” SJ reminded us. Clearing out is what makes room for clarity.

Embracing the Lesson of Balance

Virgo season is also represented by The Hermit card in tarot. It’s not about isolation, but about thoughtful stocktake: what’s working, what isn’t, and how do you want to move forward. Libra season follows Virgo for a reason, balance always returns.

So this month, ask yourself:
✨ What am I holding onto that no longer needs to come with me?
✨ Where can I soften instead of controling?
✨ What new routines or creative sparks want to be planted now?

Spring reminds us that there’s no room for new blossoms if we’re still clutching yesterday’s dried leaves. Let them go.
